Weight Loss Medications
Insurance companies are requiring our office to provide appropriate documentation when requesting approvals for weight loss medications. To meet these requirements, patients prescribed these medications through our office will need to complete an office visit which follows the medication dosing schedule. This ensures we can provide the necessary documentation supporting the continued need for your medication, helping to avoid denials or delays and maintaining insurance coverage for your treatment.
Effective March 1, 2025, an office visit and prior authorization will be required every 28 days, or less for any dosage increase of weight loss medications prescribed through our office. This is necessary for your medication to be approved and covered by your insurance.
Once your dosage reaches the final prescribed level, you will be required to complete an office visit every 90 calendar days, or less to continue receiving your medications.
